Social Awareness
To advance our mission and vision, transformed partners with schools and Medical systems, youth -serving organisations, and policymakers to provide support and guidance on issues related MESH research assessments and practice.
We focus on serving schools, Medical, youth-serving organisations, and policymakers because we believe that each has a unique and significant impact on the MESH field overall: school systems reach the vast majority of Indian youth; nonprofits and program providers shape how hundreds – sometimes thousands – of schools support students’ MESH development; and policymakers pass laws and offer recommendations that impact every school in the country.Social Awareness is the ability to take the perspective of and empathise with others from diverse backgrounds and cultures, to understand social and ethical norms for behaviour, and to recognise family, school, and community resources and supports. Social awareness is a crucial component of appropriate classroom behaviour, which contributes to an environment conducive to learning. Social awareness is also widely established as an important factor in workforce success. One recent employer survey conducted by the Partnership for 21st Century Skills demonstrates that four of the five most important skills for high school graduates entering the work force are linked to social awareness: professionalism, collaboration, communication, and social responsibility.
